Artwaves

We are looking for volunteers to help us deliver the fifth Artwaves festival on the 22 and 23 June 2019!

A dedicated event team runs the festival but we're always keen to work with committed and enthusiastic volunteers to help us make the event as safe and enjoyable as possible. You'll need to be available between 9.30am and 5.00pm (though if you can only do a partial day we can work around that). You can volunteer for as many days as you're able to commit to - from just one day, both or even our schools' day on the Friday.

Online Application

On the application you will be able to express your role preferences and availability over the festival weekend. You need to be at least 18 years old to volunteer.

The festival includes a wide range of activities and attractions and so your role can be allocated to a certain area/art form you are interested in. The main job roles for our volunteers are as follows:

  • greeting and guiding festival visitors
  • assisting activity artists in creative sessions (including our environmental and street art activities)
  • assisting young visitors in completing their Arts Award booklets on their explorer mission
  • encouraging visitor participation
  • being an ambassador for the festival
  • leading schools groups in the specially tailored schools' day

For individuals whom are looking for a more in depth/specific role we are happy to work with you and offer volunteering roles in key areas such as: Media and marketing, event management and artist liaison.

You will be given a briefing before the festival starts. Please arrive promptly to ensure you completely understand what is required of you.

ArtWaves is a key cultural event in the East Riding and we are working to improve and develop the offering year on year. As a volunteer you are one of the very first faces our visitors see and therefore your role is extremely valued to us.

By volunteering with us you are supporting the event and the development of cultural offerings in the East Riding. You will also meet other individuals and become a part of our fantastic team.

For those whom are volunteering for a full day we will provide a meal for you.

We can't wait to see you in June!
